Payroll Clerk / Payroll Specialist

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a UK Outsourcing Business who are part of a larger US-listed corporate business.  They are now seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their growing team, who will be responsible for administering pensioner payrolls in accordance with contracts and to the required HMRC standards and deadlines.  Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, key duties include :

  • Manage the monthly PAYE process ensuring all submissions (including zero submissions) are made within HMRC deadlines
  • Checking BACS submissions to ensure they have been submitted correctly
  • Dealing with all BAC’s recalls
  • Manage the BAC’s rejects process including liaison with Treasury and Admin teams
  • Manage the overseas banking set up for all overseas pensioners
  • Liaise with HMRC and other third parties to resolve any tax related queries
  • Assisting with processing payrolls if required
  • Manually calculate any advance payments outside of the payroll
  • Dealing with returned payments, recalculations of pensioners pay and year to date adjustments
  • Dealing with all incoming post and other general office duties including stationary orders and raising purchase orders
  • Taking full responsibility for the all incoming e-mails on a daily basis
  • Printing & posting of payslips & P60’s that are not produced by the external  printers and monitoring to ensure all pay slips have been issued
  • Liaise with Admin teams, Consultants and third parties as necessary to support the above
  • Comply with Corporate Policies and Procedures on reconciliations, authorisations and evidencing

To be considered for the role you should have experience of working in a high-volume multiple payroll environment, ideally with experience of manual tax calculations and knowledge of SAGE payroll systems would be extremely advantageous.  You should be able to work in a team environment, have a positive and flexible approach and be attentive to detail/highly numerate.
