McGinnis Loy Finance is proud to be working with a Top40 Accountancy Practice who are now looking to strengthen their Business Services team with the appointment of a Client Accounts Manager for their growing team in Watford. You will be working with entrepreneurial businesses and their owners to help support their long term goals, and manage your own portfolio of clients.  Key duties include:

  • Managing client portfolio allocation across the accounts team and monitoring deadlines
  • Providing support to Directors & Partners within the Business Services Department
  • Responsible for a mixed client portfolio who require management accounts & VAT, using the latest technology and apps
  • Financial reporting and data insight for internal management reporting, presenting management accounts to Board level
  • Staff appraisals and training/mentoring of staff within the Accounts Team
  • Client billing, WIP review, negotiations and drafting client proposals
  • Preparing client statutory year-end accounts and working paper file review work
  • Bedding in new client jobs and passing down work for the team to deal with
  • Liaising with internal tax & compliance teams and third party external advisors
  • Communicating with and dealing with any client queries including attending their premises when required
  • Reviewing and appraising internal working practices, identifying areas where efficiency improvements can be made
  • Promoting the interests of the firm to clients, prospective clients and other third parties.
  • Attending client gatherings/client seminars on an ad-hoc basis as support for key events.

To be considered for the role you will be experienced in managing a portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors & industries, have an appreciation of business issues so clients and Partners/Directors trust your assessment of their needs, and be used to managing junior staff.  You should be ACA/ACCA Qualified, be able to demonstrate the highest technical standards and communicate ideas to clients in a clear, concise and actionable way.  Working with Xero and Quickbooks Online, you should be competent with manual and computerised bookkeeping, able to produce accounts for sole traders and partnerships and have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage strict deadlines.
