McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with one of the UK’s leading specialist clothing businesses who are looking to recruit a Finance Manager for their Head Office based in West London.  With increased growth and expansion into international markets, this is a fantastic opportunity to join at an exciting time, reporting direct to the Finance Director.  They are looking for an individual who is pro-active and passionate about developing and future-proofing the finance function, as well as developing their own skills as the company expands further.  Key duties include:

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the finance department, AP & AR, ensuring that transactions are accurately recorded within the accounting system.
  • General bookkeeping activities such as inputting purchase ledger invoices, employee expenses claim and nominal ledger journals.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts, reports and KPI’s for the organisation.
  • Ensuring month-end & year-end close procedures are completed on a timely basis to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
  • Preparing and maintaining rolling cash flow forecasts.
  • Managing the short term cash flows of the business.
  • Assisting the Finance Director with compiling and maintaining the annual budgets, reporting variances against actuals.
  • Preparing and filing quarterly UK VAT returns.
  • Supplying the required information for the bi-monthly filing of Irish & Dutch VAT returns.
  • Preparing year-end information and liaising with external accountants for the preparation of annual accounts.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
  • Ensuring all balance sheet nominal accounts are accurately maintained and reconciled.
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, processes and internal controls.
  • Providing detailed sales reports and profitability analysis by customer, to calculate the gross margins achieved.
  • Managing the short term liquid resources of the business.

To be considered for the Finance Manager role you should be a Qualified/Finalist-level ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant with 5+ years practical experience or someone qualified by experience, in an ‘all-round’ commercial accounting role. With strong inter-personal skills and experience of dealing with customers, suppliers and external stakeholders, you should have a pro-active approach to continual improvement and be highly organised with great attention to detail.

On offer is a salary up to £60,000 with benefits to include corporate pension, healthcare scheme, 25 days holiday and flexible working options.
