McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top40 Accountancy Firm who are looking for an internal Finance Manager to manage all their internal accounting & finance operations, including supervising a small team.  Reporting to one of the Senior Partners, the role requires a high-quality finance professional with a strong academic background who can demonstrate technical accounting knowledge, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Key duties include:

  • Producing timely and reliable monthly management information reports for the Head of Finance and management board, investigating variances against budgets and providing analysis of differences.
  • Preparing annual budgets, half year and quarterly forecasts all with commentary on risks / opportunities.
  • Ensuring that all financial targets are met.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance and working together with multiple Directors and teams, as necessary, across the firm in order to deliver solutions.
  • Support the Head of Finance to develop, document and maintain all necessary accounting systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the firm.
  • Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the firm meets its financial and legal obligations.
  • Managing a team of two accounting staff
  • Assisting with driving change across the business and leading from the front
  • Dealing with complex expense management software, ensuring its integrity and accuracy of data for analysis
  • Assisting with special project/finance assignments, ownership of agreed budgets and meeting internal deadlines.

To be considered for the role you should be a Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant, ideally degree-educated with the ability to interpret, analyse and present data in an accurate and commercial manner.  You should be able to multi-task, be a strategic thinker and an effective communicator, have strong financial & management accounting technical ability and previous experience of supervising a small number of staff.  You should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to liaise across multiple disciplines internally and externally to the firm.  On offer is a salary up to £55,000 depending on qualifications and experience with benefits to include company pension, healthcare, 25 days holidays and other flexible benefits.  To apply for the position or for more information, please contact McGinnis Loy Associates (Reading) Office on 01183 245 245 or via email at [email protected]
